The Colour Wow Extra Strength Dream Coat Spray is a revolutionary hair product that promises to transform frizzy, unruly hair into smooth, sleek locks that can withstand even the most humid conditions.
In this review I will tell you all about my experience using this product on my hair while on holiday in Dubai and if I think it lives up to all the hype.
Who is Colour Wow?

Colour Wow was founded by Gail Federici, a trailblazer in the beauty industry with over 35 years of experience.
Gail Federici is known for her problem-solving approach to haircare, launched Colour Wow in 2013 after selling her previous company, John Frieda Professional Hair Care.
The brand quickly gained recognition for its innovative products, including the award-winning Root Cover Up and the original Dream Coat.
How does it work?

The Extra Strength Dream Coat works by using heat-activated polymers that create an invisible coating around the hair strands, forming a humidity-proof and water-resistant barrier.
This innovative technology fills dry, porous, frizz-prone hair with internal moisture, preventing it from absorbing atmospheric humidity that causes frizz and swelling.
I have naturally very frizzy, coarse, wavy/curly, thick and dry hair. I am now also in my peri-menopausal stage in my life so the loss and fluctuating of hormones in my body are really playing havoc with my hair. I have gone grey very quickly over the last 4 years which is making my hair even coarser and super frizzy.
I am in my beauty salon performing facials on my clients on a daily basis and using steam to cleanse, warm and open their pores changes the air in my salon to warm and humid.
Humidity is really bad for my type of hair, it grows in size and turns into one big frizz ball.
This also happens to my hair while on holiday. It doesn't matter how much deep conditioning I do and how well I blow dry and straighten my hair, normally by the end of enjoying a lovely dinner date outside on a tropical island my hair has doubled in thickness, I can literally feel it going fizzy and my husband finds it very amusing.
So I am looking forward to putting this product through its paces during our recent trip to Dubai.
How to use it
Step 1

Apply Dream Coat liberally to damp, towel-dried hair, dividing it into section as you go.
Step 2

Comb through to ensure even distribution.
Step 3. Blow-dry each section on hair using tension.
Step 4

Follow with Straightening irons or styling tongs.
Please note that the heat from your hair dryer activates the formula, creating a waterproof barrier around each strand. So blow drying your hair is vital to get full results.
My Results
Before Using Dream Coat

This is my hair towel dry after shampooing and conditioning and before applying Colour Wow Extra Strength Dream Coat.
After using Colour Wow Extra Strength Dream Coat

This is my hair after using Colour Wow Extra Strength Dream Coat and blow drying straight but before using my straightening Irons.
After using my straightening irons and styling

This is a photo of my hair after styling with my straightening Irons and giving it a bit of a flick and wave at the front and a tuck behind my ear and ready for my dinner date. I will then take photos of my hair once I am back from my evening out in Dubai. Let's see if my hair is frizzy...
My Results After Three Hours

This photo shows my hair after arriving back from 3 hours sitting outside having dinner in the warm breezy air in Dubai.
I am very impressed, Although my flick and wave has dropped out since leaving the hotel which regularly happens when I style my hair on freshly washed hair, its just because my hair is soft and the styling drops out a little.
But there is no sign of frizz at all, my hair is still very nicely relaxed, smooth and shiny. I am very please and nicely surprised at these results from my first use.
What is the difference between dream coat and dream coat extra strength?
The main difference between the original Dream Coat and the Extra Strength version lies in their formulations.
The Extra Strength Dream Coat is designed to provide additional moisture and hydration to extremely dehydrated hair and is particularly effective for curly, coily, and very porous hair types.
So if like me you have very frizzy and curly hair and wanting it sleek and smooth I would suggest you go for the Extra Strength but if your hair is only slightly frizzy, straight and delicate then the original dream coat would be more suitable.
How much is it and is it expensive?
The Extra Strength Dream Coat is priced at £32 for a 200ml bottle.
While this may seem expensive, it's important to note that Colour Wow say the effects should last through 3-4 shampoos, making it quite economical in the long run.
My hair has definitely felt lighter and smoother after each wash and I am only using the Colour Wow Extra Strength Dream Coat once a week/ fortnight when doing a full styling session.
How long does it last?
Colour Wow say that the product's effects should typically last through 3-4 shampoos, providing long-lasting frizz protection.
This means you don't need to apply it after every wash, further enhancing its value for money.
Does it provide heat protection?
Yes, the Extra Strength Dream Coat does provide heat protection. The formula contains heat protectants, making it safe to use with heated styling tools.
This is great as it means there is no need to use any other products while blow drying your hair as this product does it all.
Is it bad for your hair?
There's no evidence to suggest that the Extra Strength Dream Coat is bad for your hair.
In fact, it's safe for colour-treated and keratin-treated hair. The formula is also free from sulphates, gluten, and is vegan and cruelty-free.
Conclusion

In conclusion, I love the Colour Wow Extra Strength Dream Coat Spray as it offers a powerful solution for those struggling with extremely dry, frizzy, or unmanageable hair like myself.
I have struggled all my life and tried many different products to help my hair stop getting so frizzy without any heaviness and this product is a life line for me and my unmanageable hair.
Its innovative formula, has long-lasting effects, and added benefits like heat protection make it a worth while investment for many hair types, so I suggest you give it a go.
While the initial cost may be high, its durability and effectiveness could make it a valuable addition to your hair care routine. I think it is worth every penny for the results I have seen on my hair.
Would I recommend it?

Yes I would recommend the Colour Wow Extra Strength Dream Coat Spray to everyone that has frizzy, coarse, unruly mad hair like mine. I really have found that it works and I look forward to using it time and time again to keep my hair sleek and smooth and under control, I love it and also looking forward to checking out some of the other products from this brand.
