Maintaining a healthy moisture balance is the cornerstone of any effective skincare routine and the Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream has long been a cult favourite for achieving exactly that.

*Microbiome - Your skin's Microbiome is an invisible layer which is a complex eco-system that hosts micro-organisms such as bacteria. This layer is a viral first line of defence for your skin while protecting against pathogens which are parasites that can cause disease by invading cells. This skin immune system needs to be maintained to have a healthy, acidic and hydrated barrier of protection.

As I mentioned above this best selling moisturiser features advanced Active HydraMesh Technology which works on a *molecular level to infuse the skin with 48 hours of continuous hydration.
Beyond just moisture it also creates a breathable film over the skin's surface to help reduce *transepidermal water loss to help your skin hold onto water for longer and protects your skins natural microbiome from environmental aggression.
The texture of the Skin Smoothing cream is perfectly balanced by being rich enough to provide comfort but lightweight enough to absorb without leaving a greasy or heavy residue. I describe its texture as a lotion, so water based and medium to light feel, rather than a thick, cream or heavy moisturiser.
*molecular level - means the level in your skin were the chemical interactions are present, were lipids and proteins such as collagen are made. Products that reach and affect this level have a greater impact on cell repair, protect and help regenerate tissue and cells.
*transepidermal water loss - is the natural process where water passes through the layer of the skin called the epidermis, the epidermis is your outermost layer, this water then evaporates into the atmosphere.

- 150ml: For those who consider this a holy grail product a jumbo size which is a great value and offers better longevity and value for money.
- 100ml: The medium size bottle.

How to use it
For the most effective results you should apply the cream to a clean and toned face, neck and chest. After using your preferred Dermalogica cleanser and toner apply a pea sized amount of the cream to your fingertips and pop spots of it on each zone of your face.
Use light upward strokes to massage the product into each section of skin. To further enhance the benefits I highly recommend using over a targeting serum.
Top Tip: Applying over a damp skin surface from your favourite toner helps the formula glide and absorb even more efficiently.
